I'm a self-taught artist who has gone from working in the corporate world to working for myself; it's a job that I love! Much of my art is centered around the Mexican holiday Dia De Los Muertos, the Mexican artista Frida Kahlo, corazones (especially sacred and anatomical) and strong, powerful female imagery. My favorite subject matter to paint is portraits and while I don't think I've perfected it, I like to keep trying. While I adore painting on canvas the most, I also enjoy creating mixed-media works and functional art; art that's useful and filled with color! With painting and creating being my way of life, it has allowed many fabulous opportunities and to meet some pretty spectacular people. It makes what I do so worth while and fulfilling! I'm simply known as Cat, a southern California native, painter, stuff maker, herbivore and animal lover, doing what I love to do!
